The generalized use of data and smart digital systems heralds a new digital age: from digital nomadism and intelligent cities to a better understanding of human needs and uses.

These future systems, edicated to the analysis, recognition and optimization of resources, pave the way to life-changing applications, but require a broad scientific knowledge and skills in digital sciences.

To form the expert of the future, we propose trainings in mathematics, computer science and science for engineers, combined with human and social sciences.

The program

Each student must attend :

  •  a common thematic week of his or her choice with Master's and doctoral students
  • about ten common seminars throughout the year
  • a mini-conference.

Starting in 2022, each student can obtain a minor outside his or her discipline by choosing teaching units from other disciplines. During their studies, students will have Students will have the opportunity to customize their curriculum with interdisciplinary projects that cross disciplines and degrees, mixing M1, M2 and PhD students.

Strenghts and career perspectives

Strengths

  • NUMERICS is a selective course. Training Master and doctoral students to digital sciences.
  • NUMERICS is interdisciplinary (Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronic and Systems Engineering) and international, and addresse Research and Industry. In the context of urging societal challenges, NUMERICS students acquire the scientific expertise in data science an engineering, complex systems or artificial intelligence.
  • Students are given access to research platforms: big data, parallel computing, robotics, internet of things, drones.
  • They benefit from the NUMERICS industrial and academic network, and the program facilitates internships (local and international research laboratories) by covering mobility costs.
  • All along the course, students are individually tutored by NUMERICS academics.

Admission requirements

Bachelor, Master or Engineering School in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering

Language requirements

English (starting 2022): 550 points (TOEFL), 750 points (TOEIC) or B2 (CECRL)

Registration fees

If you are already enrolled in a Master's or PhD program at the University of Bordeaux or at the INP, you are not concerned by this information.

If you are an external candidate :

  • Annual registration fees are calculated according to the University of Bordeaux rules and regulations fees (approximatively 400€ / year)
  • International mobility grants are available upon application based on the program’s academic collaborations
