Plan your mobility

For a successful mobility project, it is important to plan ahead

1. Discuss your mobility project with your supervisor

Any mobility should be approved by your supervisor and your research unit. In addition, you should rely on their network for getting in touch with research teams of your specialty abroad.

2. Searching for funding opportunities

You will find more information on how to search for mobility funding on the following link: Funding for a mobility abroad.

The Graduate Research School works to support doctoral students in their search by sending funding opportunities via email (make sure to check your u-bordeaux.fr account).

3. Plan ahead administrative formalities: visa, housing, driving license, insurance…

Do not hesitate to seek advice from your colleagues (researchers, doctoral and post-doctoral students) who went through this.

Reminder

For any professional mobility, you must have a mission order established by your research unit. This document is necessary to guarantee your insurance during your mobility.
