180 seconds to present your research. 3 minutes to share your passion. Doctoral students from the University of Bordeaux, come and participate in the 2022 competition My thesis in 180 seconds and learn how to communicate your research project to the large public.

Principal
This competition, co-organized at the national level by the CNRS and the Conference of University Presidents (CPU), consists of presenting your research topic in simple terms to a lay audience. Your 3-minutes presentation should be clear, concise and yet convincing about your research project.
Conditions of participation
- Be enrolled in a doctorate program in 2021-2022 at the University of Bordeaux or have obtained your doctorate during the previous academic year 2020-2021
- Accept and authorize the use and distribution of videos and photos related to the competition, including on social networks
- Have informed your thesis supervisor of your participation in the competition
- Present a sufficiently advanced state of the doctoral research project
- Speak in French
- Take note of the candidate guide published by the CPU and the CNRS
- Last year's candidates can re-apply if they wish and if they still satisfy the application criteria
To apply
Each candidate must send the completed and signed application form as well as a photo, to the Graduate Research School before Monday, January 3, 2022 by e-mail to mt180s@u-bordeaux.fr
The application will be validated only when the signed form is sent.
Preparation
- Training in communication and public speaking provided by professionals to learn to communicate and popularize your passion for research in January and February
- An accompaniment for the presentation during the participation in the various finals: University of Bordeaux, then regional, national, international grouping, in front of a jury composed of representatives of the culture and scientific communication, the economic world, HR and the media
Depending on the health situation, trainings will be provided in person or at distance.

January / February 2022 | Participation in the common training for candidates from the two Bordeaux universities 4 hours: work on the content and writing of the 3-minutes text Registration will be done online at the beginning of January after sending the application forms via your personal ADUM account |
Thursday March 3, 2022 | Semi-final of the University of Bordeaux (if necessary depending on the number of registrations) at the Agora of the Haut-Carré at the University of Bordeaux (Talence) |
Thursday March 10, 2022 | Final of the University of Bordeaux at the Agora fo the Haut-Carré at the University of Bordeaux (Talence) |
Tuesday March 29, 2022 | Final of the regional grouping at the Agora of the Haut-Carré at the university of Bordeaux (Talence) |
Beginning of April 2022 | National semi-final in Paris |
June 2022 | National final (undefined location) |
Fall 2022 | International final in Montreal (Quebec) |
Depending on the health situation, the duration and modalities of the different finals and semi-finals may be rethought.
