The University of Bordeaux recently made compulsory, for all the doctoral students, a training in scientific integrity: an original approach for this essential issue in the research field.

Scientific integrity has long been a key issue for the University of Bordeaux. Moreover, since May 2016, a new order prescribes the doctoral schools to ensure that each doctoral student is trained in scientific integrity.

Therefore the University of Bordeaux offers all doctoral students, an appropriate training, developed in agreement with the CPU, the CNRS, Inserm and Inra.

The objective of this training is to diffuse  and reinforce a  scientific integrity  culture in all of the institutions of the Bordeaux site in charge of doctoral students in order for them to  adopt a rigorous, ethical and responsible attitude, from the thesis and then during  all their career.
In a second time, this training will be proposed to  all the actors of the University  (not only the doctoral students) involved in research.

The validation of this training will also become a prerequisite for the presentation to obtain an authorization to supervise research (HDR).

This year, approximately 500 students, enrolled  in the first year of thesis, within the eight graduate schools of the University of Bordeaux,  have followed the four modules of the training (accessible via the Moodle teaching Platform)

It consists in series of a 3 to 6 minutes video clip, with dialogues between teachers and students, testimony of experts and doctoral students, but also on "micro polings " shots by doctoral students. It also includes animations, quizzes, forums, readings of articles, to deepen the subject
