The gap year

The University of Bordeaux offers doctoral students the opportunity to benefit from a one year gap.

What's that?

A gap consists in suspending the doctoral training for a maximum of one semester or one academic year in order to gain personal or professional experience in France or abroad, either independently or under the supervision of a host organisation.
This request can only be made once during the doctoral program and the period is not counted as part of the duration of the thesis.
