Principle

Each year, the Graduate Research School opens a call for mobility grants for doctoral students wishing to submit an international mobility project supporting the internationalization of their doctoral studies.

For whom?

This program is open to all the scientific fields of the University of Bordeaux’s (UB) doctoral schools, and is addressed to doctoral candidates wishing to submit an international mobility projects supporting the internationalization of their doctoral studies.

Call

Each year, there will be two calls for applications:

• WINTER CALL: in January / selection of grantees in April
• SUMMER CALL: in July / selection of grantees in October

The Fulbright program has more than 380 000 alumni worldwide, including 59 Nobel Prize winners.

The Franco-American Commission has been administering this prestigious program between France and the United States for the past 70 years and has more than 20,000 awardees from both countries.

The Fulbright Commission and the University of Bordeaux have signed up an agreement for students enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of Bordeaux to pursue research for their doctoral studies in an American university.

Eligibility requirements:

• Be of French nationality
• Be enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of Bordeaux
• Be officially invited by a research center or a university in the USA

Duration of the award

4 to 12 months, depending on the research project

Amount:

Depends on destination.

• For funded students: between $1,500 and $1,950 per month.
• For non-funded students: between $1,800 and $2,340 per month.
• Travel grant of 1200€, gratuity of visa fees and complementary health insurance.
